Accessibility

What is digital accessibility ?

According to Tim Bernes-Lee (director of W3C and inventor of the World Wide Web), accessibility consists of :

Placing the Web and its services at the disposal of everyone, whatever their hardware and software, their network infrastructure, their mother tongue, their culture, their geographical location or their physical and mental abilities.

An Internet site is “accessible” when everyone can browse through it without difficulty using a browser and/or an assistance tool.

Compliance with the standards

The XHTML code complies with the XHTML 1.0 Specification. It has been tested using W3C’s HTML validation tool.
Despite all our efforts, should you find any errors further to the validation procedures, we would be grateful if you would report them to us.

Structure and presentation

The site’s layout is separate from its content thanks to the use of style sheets. The utilisation of CSS positioning properties, by completely separating the presentation from the content, makes it possible to keep the documents in coherent order outside CSS : title, menus, content...

Navigation aids

Quick access links

These links, placed at the top of the page, allow you directly to access the part you are looking for (without having to browse through information that you are not interested in):

Tab-key browsing

You can go from one link to another using the Tab key (press Tab and repeat until you have reached the link you want, then press Enter to validate).

Breadcrumb trail

The breadcrumb trail shows you the path you have taken by situating the page currently displayed on the screen and allows you to backtrack through the tree structure.

Others

You can return to the Home page simply by clicking on the logo.
The “Top of page” link (situated at the bottom of the page) allows you, as its name suggests, to go to the top of the page.

Adjusting the text/page size

In order to allow the users to change the site’s presentation, in particular the size of the characters displayed, the page layout is based on the use of relative units. This means that you can increase the size of the text/page:

With most browsers: Ctrl + + mouse wheel
or
Ctrl+ to increase the size of the character font and Ctrl- to decrease it.

With versions earlier than Internet Explorer 7: on the menu bar at the top of the browser, go to Display > Font size and choose the size that suits you.

Printable version

When you print a page, all of the site’s navigation elements will be hidden so that you can print only the useful part of the information: with all browsers, on the menu bar at the top of the browser, go to File > Print.

Reading .pdf documents

You will find downloadable documents in .pdf format on this site.

If you do not have "Acrobat Reader", you can download it from the adobe site.

You can also transform .pdf documents into conventional HTML pages by using the Adobe on-line conversion motor.

You must then copy the address of your .pdf file (with Mozilla Firefox right-click on the file then “Copy link address", with Internet Explorer right-click on the file then “Copy link address” and paste it in the field provided for that purpose.

Depending on the complexity of the .pdf document, the conversion you get may be more or less satisfactory.

Adding this site to your "favourites"

On the menu bar at the top of the browser:

Should you have any difficulties consulting this site, we would be grateful if you would report them to us.
